Dear Wendy I've really enjoyed wandering round your website. I'd never
read any of your poetry before so I found this particularly fascinating. I
loved the page written by Debora; she's obviously inherited your talent.
It was interesting to hear a writer's childs take on living with a writer.
My own kids would probably have some revealing comments to make. "We never
have any clean clothes," "the fridge is empty," "are you at that computer
again?" to name a few. I'm sure the film deal is just round the corner.
Love and best wishes Eileen Jennison x

I enjoyed reading the articles on your website. Any articles about
Singapore takes me back there. I spent many years in Singapore coming and
going between 1965 and 2001. I joined my first RFA ship in Singapore as a
cadet so I have seen Singapore as it was and as it is now. To be honest I
think I prefer modern day Singapore probably because I enjoyed a period
between 1999 and 2001 so much.
I hope to get a copy of your book" Long Journey Home" .I am sure I will
enjoy it.
All the best.

Dear Wendy,
I would like to thank you for your tips on this page. I have been
wanting to writing a novel for some time now, and for a long time i have
had this idea in my head that has grown several times over the year and
didn't have a clue of where to begin from reading your Do's and Don'ts on
writing a novel I now know where to start. I appreciate the hospitality
that you as a writer has brought among young aspiring writers. Being an
Openly gay 21 year old, I will have many adventures finding a good
publisher, but from what i can see most are "gay friendly" From the bottom
of my heart I thank you on Behalf of all young aspiring writers.
Sincerely, Jerry W. Graham

Good morning, Wendy - and thank you for your support at the 'Bloomsday'
session of the Wear Valley Writers' group, last night. Your learned and
timely contributions were not only helpful to the group, but gave me a
chance to assemble my scattered thoughts. Thanks also, once more, for your
continued encouragement with my writing. I will do something, one day,
which will enable you to say, "Well, of course, I knew him when he could
barely string a dozen sentences together...and now look at him." Perhaps!!
Thanks again - and continued Good Luck with your own writing. Ed

I heard you on Radio Clevelend, this afternoon. Until then I must
confess I had never heard of you. - Ooops, I could have put that more
diplomatically. I will be popping into Penrith Library and looking for you
on the shelf. Why? Well I'm a native of Bishop, born in the Tenters Street
Maternaty Unit in late 1941.
Until 5 years ago, we lived had in the "home counties" for 19 years
(such an arrogant name - the not MY HOME COUNTIES) and I promised that if
fate took me 'home' then I would pop into Durham Cathedral and just sit
for a while. Well this afternoon I was en-route to Durham on business when
I heard you. I concluded my business and then honoured my promise to
myself.
I went to the cathedral. I the choir were practising followed by
evensong with the organ being played. I only stayed for 20 minutes. Home
at last.

Hi there Wendy. Don't remember if we ever met, but I write as Jeannie
Johnson for Orion. Had to say I love your site. Full of life. Also writing
to say how much I smiled and clapped at your article Twentieth Century
Blues in Solander. Remembering, as well as researching, is what makes saga
characters spring into life so much more easily than those of previous
centuries - my thoughts anyway. Re your book covers - I'm divided. Your
name looms large on the paperback - always a good thing so an ex HC editor
friend tells me, but there's something more compelling about the hardback,
and it's not just because I prefer gabled Jacobean style houses. best
regards, Jeannie

Wendy -- Greetings from Massachusetts! I am one of the Probation
Officers you met with at Dorchester Court in Boston. Currently I am
working at another court (Taunton) and am hoping to get the Changing Lives
Through Literature program off the ground there! I thought of you and
Avril and looked up your website!! Apparently things are going well,
congratulations on your newest release. Just thought I'd drop a line and
say Hello! Are you still involved with writing workshops for incarcerated
women? If (I mean when) we get CLTL off the ground in Taunton I would like
to use your suggestions for writing. It was a pleasure meeting you. Take
care. Theresa

Belated thanks for invitation to your latest book launch, and congrats
on your continued success. You (seem to) work hard and deserve the
plaudits. This site is brilliant - quick and easy to navigate, full of
interesting 'stuff' and insights into how a writer thinks and works. And
finally, for those who haven't yet had the opportunity - make an effort to
attend Wendy's workshops. She is stimulating, encouraging, sometimes quite
fierce but always worth listening to.

Well done! As ever, the writing is up to standard and the creative
juices - from both generations - have certainly been flowing
inspirationally. As ever, an interesting and informative experience.
Looking forward to murder in the BATH...

I was introduced to Wendy by a mutual friend some years ago and love
spending time with her. Her authentic self shines through both in her
fiction and in her life. I see this as a kind of bravery, and I admire it.
I really liked Debora's write-up on her mother. Don't we all want to be
loved and admired by our daughters? Perhaps even more than our sons.
I am looking forward to reading her new book and to her sharing her own
happenings.
