Fi Horner's Whitworth Hall Paintings

Artist Fi Horner has used various aspects of Whitworth Hall, County Durham, as the inspiration for her most recent paintings. Working in collaboration with Wendy, whose new novel Honesty's Daughter is also inspired by this house and its unique garden, Fiona has created a series of paintings using on-site work, photography and painting to evoke the atmosphere, history and identity of this ancient seat of the Shafto Family.

A collection of Fiona's work will be featured in Bishop Auckland Town Hall's McGuinness Gallery from August 26th until September 13th. The exhibition will include Fiona's working drawings and photographs as well as finished paintings which are available to buy. Alongside the paintings will be extracts from Wendy's manuscripts and her finished novel, Honesty's Daughter.
